| Admirer of Alechinsky tells: |

|
For some time I had observed how Pierre Alechinsky used different old documents and the like as the background for his pictures. I got the idea that old Flora Danica prints, which I had lots of, could also be fine to paint on and I asked Børge Birch wether he believed that would be something of interest to Alechinsky. Børge immedediately saw the possibilities and with a stack of Flora Danica prints spread out on his desk, quick as lightning, Børge had chosen the ones which Alechinsky then received to work on. A very fine exhibition in Admiralgade became the result of his work and Alechinsky continued for years afterwards, using these prints in his art work. Aside from the many fine pictures which came out of the idea, that which impressed me most was Børge Birch's way of working. It went rapidly, but with certitude. With him the distance from thought to action nearly did not exist.
