A wise decision

In 1961 we visited Børge on Admiralgade and saw a very lovely exhibition of Pierre Soulages' art works. We bought two paintings, but one of them had not been signed. My wise wife voiced her objection, saying that one could not pay such a high price without the picture having been signed by the artist.

Børge, however, thought that was without significance when everyone could see it was by Soulages. But, all the same, we agreed to wait with the delivery of it untill it had been properly signed.

Two years later, Soulages came to Copenhagen to visit Børge, who got him to sign it.
