Biography
Pincemin didn´t attend neither art school nor college and just after school he works on the assembly line at the Renault factory. He uses his spare time of freedom to attend the Louvre where he discovers the masters of painting. A little later, a technical training will lead him to work as turner in the mechanical engineering industry of precision, and then after some other wanders, as from the sixties, he gets devoted to painting, engraving and the sculpture. In 1969, he organizes with Claude Viallat an exposure to the Special School of Architecture in Paris. The artists taking part in this exposure will be the core of the Support/Surface group. Noticed as of his first exposures in Paris, Jean-Pierre Pincemin will not take part in the success of his comrades; he will take a route rather where the classicism (generic term) was the indicated goal.
His works of painting is of a sophisticated chromatist organized by a rigorous construction and made him an inimitable artist - French tradition obliges - impersonality, austerity, expression and feeling selected. A cerebral sensuality! In 1986, by various influences, he will modify his manner of painting and its design of space. We will have then to make with constructions expressionists and imaginative to lead to principles who are those of figurative painting. Jean-Pierre Pincemin, will devote himself to the sculpture, engraving, the design and artistic teaching.
