Biography
After experiments with the geometrical in art, Albert Bitran soon found his own personal style in the abstract which leads him to his first exhibition in 1951, Paris. The grand gestural and restless strokes with the lyric sense of form and attention on the colour and the materials density, was a challenge to the concrete artists emphasizing on the flat adaptation on the surface. From a rational approach to arts & crafts production, arose a renewed interest in fantasy, creativity and spontaneity, in this way had Albert Bitran originally worked in the concrete abstract style but began in the late fifties to work with a more free and expressive style, where the interaction between the linear architectural and the picturesque, influenced his work.
Albert Bitran exhibited in Galerie Birch the very first time in 1961 and he continued the collaborations with our gallery and came back several times, among others in 63-64-65-67-74-79-83.
Bitrans works are exhibited in leading galleries and represented in famous museums worldwide.
